A pictographic poem in Proto-Sinaitic, the world's first alphabet. It illuminates the meaning of Hallelujah: great and deep -- a profound peace. Joy and relief because that which was broken, has been made whole. Those who were trapped in a pit of bondage, have been set free. That which was cast down, has been reborn on high.

The Aamu. Procession of Aamu group. Tomb of Khnumhotep (together in peace?) II at Beni Hassan.

Ammim means people in Hebrew. Ammu is possibly an Egyptian word for Canaanites or Amorites. Hyksos? Shepherd kings? Wandering Arameans like Abraham? These people appear to be joyful and good-natured. They wear with colorful clothes, and allow children a sense of involvement and responsibility. One small boy has a spear as if guarding his mother! Ladies walk arm-in-arm, like affectionate sisters. A man looks lovingly back at his lady and family. This procession includes musical instruments. One man is playing the harp. They are humble, with asses, beasts of burden, and wild game like antelope. They are being introduced by Egyptian scribes. That is a sign of esteem.

The first letters of this alphabet allude to shepherd's lifestyle -- house of cattle, then boomerang and bow. ABGimmeL YHWH

Bootes, Virgo, Grail, sheep. Immaculate conception and resurrection from sealed stone tomb via E=mc2. Emcee in, Emcee out -- they who are born of the spirit are like the wind, you feel it, but see it not ~ Jesus

Character #7 has knees bent, indicating he is moving left to right. He is bringing, or closing the door on all the life scenes behind him. His fingers are open to grasp the staff of the future, which leads to the Rb Slm, the Lord of Peace. He is moving away from the the smiting arm, the lightning bolt, the world of battles and fights, births and and shadow of death towards transfiguration into an immortal state, shown in Wadi El Hol 2.

Bible Stories in Wadi El Hol 1 - Jacob's Ladder

Jacobs Dream, a painting by Vladimir Bibikov
Jacob's Dream, by Vladimir Bibikov

How Wadi El Hol Proto-Sinaitic illustrates Jacob's Ladder: sleeping man, stairs, and pillar

Jacob #7 decides to rest on what he thinks is ordinary ground, but it is revealed to be the glorious gateway to heaven! Glyphs #5 and #10 of Wadi El Hol 1 are the stairway to heaven, with angels ascending and descending. The ordinary stone that he used as a headrest becomes a historical monument. Jacob erects a pillar #9 (Genesis 28:18) to mark the extraordinarily holy place. A stone that the builders reject could become the head of an arch (Psalm 118:22-23). It exemplifies the inspiring idea that "every valley will be exalted," and that the humble can be revealed to be great.

Common-looking ground has been revealed to be the Gateway to Heaven.

Bible Stories in Wadi El Hol 1 - Moses & Samson

Symbolism of Wadi El Hol 1 - The Story of Life

The story of life from pregnancy to death is illustrated in Wadi El Hol 1

Birth, joy, suffering, diaster, and death are elements of panorama of the drama of life. In the center, we see a victorious soul ascending, having overcome the challenges of life. #9 is the strong, raised arm of the father, #10 is the lightning stroke of life conception. #11 is the embryo. #12 is the womb, or nursing cow goddess. #13 is the female birth opening. #14 the waters of birth. Accordion #15 is the expansion and contraction of the lungs, the breath. #16 is the shadow of death. Thus the panel is divided into two, with the last half a complete panorama of the process of life. The whole panel could represent the grave - great house of peace, with Wadi El Hol 2 depicting the resurrection as a perfect being of light. * (#9 raised arm, of fertility god Min. Assymetrical mem, in Meta-linguistic interpretation is Mn) Wadi El Hol 1 is a sacred text, with full cognizance of worldly affairs and passions.

WEH 1 shows the soul between lives. Behind, there is illustrated the entire arc of life, from conception to death. The phantom floats between worlds, and is about to pass to the side of the Lord of Peace. Or on a throne, the regent grasps the sceptre of peace. Wadi El Hol 2 shows the radiant soul has passed the tests of judgement in the afterworld and has emerged transfigured into the immortal perfect image of the heavens.

Wadi El Hol 1 offers an abundance of visual metaphors, and the same symbols remarkably perform multiple roles to illustrate bible stories such as Jacob's Ladder, Samson collapsing the pillars of the Philistine temple, Moses parting the Sea, and the birth of Christ in a manger.

  • METAPHORS -
    • PEACE is like calm in a storm
    • UNITY - like keyhole and open door, like head and heart. Like fiber of cotton progressively integrated, starting with a pod, then fiber, twisted yarn, and finally a woven fabric, the union of many threads..
    • NATION is a sea of marching, strong-armed people
    • LIFE like a freshwater stream born in the cleft of a rock, flowing down, braiding with others, finally reaching the end of land at the delta, and being merged into the salty waters of the sea. Also like virgin fibre of cotton, which gets woven into a cloth, made into a garment, which frays with age.
    • GREATNESS - the defeated man knocked on his back, who raises his fist in determination to rise and try again; the strong ox that plows the ground preparing for a new cycle of growing; the tiny seed that with watering, can grow into a great tree.

from Darnell, John. Early Alphabetic Inscriptions.

Darnell comments that Wadi El Hol has many rock inscriptions which can be viewed by travelers of the Farshut caravan road. The Wadi El Hol 1 and 2 inscriptions are located about midway between the sacred site of Thebes, and Hou (named for the Divine Word, making this appropriate for a rock library of inscriptions. This region is also home to the famous Nag Hammadi library. It is a local of spirituality, scholarship, and mysticism. Darnell said many inscriptions are titles, CCHorner Wadi El Hol 1 interpretation is titles of God: Prince of Peace, etc. Worship of Hathor is evident, that is CCH interpretation of most Proto-Sinaitic passages.). Some inscriptions address comments to neighboring inscription authors. [Darnell, Wadi El Hol. Encyclopedia of Egyptology]

HORIZONTAL - material affairs. WEH1 shows birth, love, aging, and death. STORY OF LIFE.

  • The first Hallelujah. Wadi El Hol 1 may contain the first alphabetic inscription of the Hebrew word of rejoicing and praise, Hallelujah. The letters of the word illustrate several joyous occasions: healing, resurrection, release into freedom, relaxing by a river, and the birth of a child. A decipherment of Wadi El Hol 1 is proposed: Lord of Peace, Hallelujah!

  • A Pictographic Epic. Wadi El Hol 1 has an extravaganza of expressive potential.
    1. HEADLINE: "Lord of Peace, Hallelujah!" Rejoice, brothers (Hebrew, achim) of Egypt (Khem)! This multi-layer message is a forwards and backwards play on Hebrew and Egyptian words KHM which interprets to brothers AKHIM, spirits AKH, life anKH, life chai, magic Hka, pharaoh's shepherd staff HKa, and Egypt KHM.
    2. THEME: The theme is peace and unity
    3. PEACE: Illustrated as calm water in the midst of a stormy sea. The idea that nations, and even heaven and earth are joined like brothers. The formula for peace is a leader with a sword of power, a scroll of wisdom, as the shepherd of the multitudes.
    4. PEACE - The sword, scroll, leader's staff, and water. A formula for peace is an inspiring caring leader like a shepherd with power to defend (the sword), wisdom (the scroll), and enough liquid resources (water) to meet the needs of the multitudes (water).
    5. DEATH: #1 head without a face. Anonymous dead. Universal - all face (facebook @covidfaces). #2 grave, burrow, buried. SLM then is solemnity of grief. #16 is death: frayed garment, end of a river in delta, merged with ocean.
    6. UNITY: complemented by 21 instances of unity, such as a keyhole and open door; head and heart; the head and body, the ruler and a scroll; water and land; mouth, voice, and breath; male and female; fibre, cord, and fabric; head and hair; mother and child, and the combined strength of the people of a nation. (nationembryo and womb, mouth and speech, word, song; smoke and fire. Origin)
    7. JOY: The word Hallelujah, is written with pictographs that illustrate 7 scenarios of joy, such as healing, release from bondage, divine epiphany, the birth of a child, and resurrection in triumph over death.
    8. TITLES OF GOD: Lord of Peace, Son of God, God of Heavens, God of Gods, Hidden God, God of Tabernacles, Mighty God, and Eternal God.

Q ecclesia church = Z, Ya. 2021-3-15 ch. Resurrected Jesus said, All Hail. Like Halleluia. Chairo. O Joy. Hosanna.
HAMMURABI - Ha The. AM people. UR great. RABI. Ruler. HA. The. MRI Beloved. AB. Father. RABI. Ruler

    9. SAMSON, MOSES, JESUS AND MARY! Samson is strongly depicted. He killed a thousand Philistines with a jawbone of a donkey, had his magic hair shaved, and his eyes put out. He pushed pillars to knock the Philistine temple down. The elements of his story, a jawbone, a bald head, hair, a weeping eye, a man pushing pillars, thunderous vibrations, and a flat tent are depicted. It is even possible to read the name of Delilah, the lover who betrayed Samson, in the space with a double instead of Hallelujah. It creates a scene where he roars her name as he destroys the temple and crushes his nations enemies and himself. Samson would have been a legendary contemporary figure in the time of the inscription, well known to Hebrews and Philistines. Perhaps the Philistines invented the alphabet! This scene of hellish suffering and destruction is the counterpoint to images of joy, healing, resurrection, and heavenly ascension. The hero is "a man of sorrows, well-aquainted with grief" Isaiah 53:3.
    10. MOSES: The centerpiece of the inscription #7. Staff changes to serpent #5 and back again #4, Moses strikes rock #9. with staff #8, and water #10 comes out. Moes parts the sea #5 - #10. Procession of people feet #9 behind him. #6.
    11. JESUS: The central figure #7 could represent a child in mother's bosom #6, #8. Three heqa staffs #7, #8, #4 represent three visiting kings. #9 angle may represent kneeling of someone paying homage to the Christ child. #9 may be a yud arm, the strong arm representing father, #8, #6 bosom of mother, and #7 infant in the bosom of the mother. Feet next to water may allude to Jesus' ability to walk on water. #1 Ra can play the role of the Star of Bethlehem. It is first because it was the harbinger of the holy birth.
    12. RIGHT HAND, HOLY ARM #9
    13. HIDDEN (#9) MANNA (#10 MN) #11-#13 AA, MANNA. H (life, Heh eternal)
    14. GREATNESS: There are 3 forms of greatness. One is a man knocked on his back, who nevertheless still raises his fist in determination. Another is the small seed that when watered grows into a great tree. It speaks of life and death, spirit and the mundane.
    15. HAPPY UNION: Finally, a happy ending is achieved by linking the end to the beginning. There is a reunion of father (strong arm #9, staff #8), mother (bosom #8, #6), and child #7 (conception lightning stroke #10, embryo with umbilical cord in utero #11) to illustrate the overall theme of unity, joy and peace.
    16. Finishing with death #16, and starting again, one encounters the keyhole #1, the house with the open door #2, and the word PEACE slm #3, #4, #5, then the gate of heaven, or the column of light ascension. #6, #8, with the liberated sould. The end links to the beginning. (The polyvalent symbolism of masterpiece attests to a high degree of cleverness in ancient times!)

Wadi El Hol 1 appears to contain a grand biblical survey and prophecy in the spirit of Isaiah 9:6 and Handel's Messiah: Unto us a child is born, a son is given. His name shall be called Wonderful! Counselor! The Mighty God! The Everlasting Father! The Prince of Peace! It blends Hebrew, Philistine, and Egyptian culture. One can contemplate it at length and find further insight.

Wadi El Hol 1 is a remarkable example of how an inscription can have a main message as well as other harmonics. It is an example of how a world could be created as the corollaries o a single word.

  • This book cover illustrates the global ubiquity of the double-staff motif.

Celeste Horner independently noticed this phenomenon and was used it find the center, parse, and decode the Wadi El Hol 1 inscription.

Lord of two lands, master of duality. Lord of Life and Death.

The central figure #7 is the great balancer, the Lord of Peace, master of the duality of light (Ra #1) and dark | black (Egyptian Khemshadow) (#16). On the right side, the dawn side of the inscription, we have RB SLM, Prince of Peace. On the left there is the grave shaft (#9) and pyramids or mounds (#10), a child in utero (#11), the womb (#12), waters of birth (#13) (#14), first breath (#15) and life, and finally the shadow of death (#16). These are the milestones of mortal earthly life. Figure (#7) is in the space, the gateway (#8) (#6) between life and the beyond; passed over and preparing for ascension. The posture of (#7) is joy, kneeling reverence. It is perhaps a welcoming deity sitting on a throne.

    The Greatness of Peace

    a poem inspired by Proto-Sinaitic
    by Celeste Claire Horner c2020

    Greatness
a poem inspired by the Wadi El Hol 1
    rock inscription of 1800 B.C.

    Greatness is a nation

    whose people combine their strength

that stand together as one great sea

and move mountains of challenge aside

    like roaring mighty river.

Greatness is the person who's beaten,

and knocked flat on their back,

but raises a fist with determination

to rise up and try again.

    Greatness is the ox

that works hard pulling the plough,

    to turn and refresh the earth;

to prepare and clear the way

for a new cycle of growing.

    Greatness is the tiny seed

    that with sunlight, and watering,

can grow into a great and mighty tree.

    Greatness is the tiny trickle,

born in the cleft of a rock,

    that becomes a current,

    and braids with other streams,

and then fans wide to feed a whole land,

before flowing out to the boundless sea.

    Great is the head

    that thinks, dreams,

    and discovers.

Great is the heart that loves.

    Great is the welcoming house.

    Great is the feeling

    of being home.

Great are the forces of nature,

    the crashing sea,

    the whistling flow of wind,

    the fire below

    which pushes up mountains.

    Great is the sword.

    Greater is the scroll.

    Greatest of all

is the one with the gift

    to bring opposing sides together.

The Wadi El Hol inscriptions are currently undeciphered, but have broad expressive potential which includes an inspiring message of peace, brotherhood, and hope. There are beautiful metaphors like inner peace being like the calm in the midst of a storm. It provides visuals to illustrate several biblical stories such as Jacob's Ladder, Joshua parting the Jordan (#6, #8 become the ples of the Arc of the Covenant, with God #7 manifesting in the middle) Moses parting the Red Sea, and the birth of Christ. This inscription could have functioned as a teaching, or commemorative exhibit for those traveling the ancient road to the Egyptian capital of Thebes.
