Unicorn Yaali Seal: Churning of the Ocean of Milk

This seal represents the Churning of the Ocean of Milk, emphasizing how the multi-headed serpent Shesha coiled around the mountain and was used as a rope, pulled by both gods and demons. Similarly, there is a coil around the unicorn's neck. Next, the nasty scorpion claw poison sign is superimposed on a flow symbol. This seal considers the tension of cosmic forces in the universe, the apparent back-and-forth tug of war of life. Eventually the reward arrives, here with ambrosia lotus and goddess of fortune signs.

UNICORN YAALI SEAL. Mythical beast with an elephant trunk, the mount of Budh, the planet Mercury (important to alchemy). Likewise, the manger of the unicorn is an emblem of the secrets of alchemy, the exotic ingredients and processes needed to make ambrosia. The metaphor carries the esoteric meaning of the Churning of the Ocean of Milk, which is also probing the depths, and combining the great opposing forces to enable the secrets of eternal life to emerge. Epigraphic pun: the second glyph combines three elements into one: poison, Asura demon, and river flow. This represents the Halahala poison which emerged during the Churning of the Ocean of Milk.
